Hello ??

Hi,
My name is Jake. I've been a Fordoholic since I drove my dad's '79 F-250 at the age of 8 in the corn field.

How about you?

Haha. I'll see what I can do. I lurk from time to time but that's about it. Exploring my highboy engine options right now so I'm on a bit more.

Hey Jake! Don't worry about Pat, he's still the biggest slacker around here.

What's up with the highboy?

And proud of it!

What's wrong with the 390?

I think it's mostly the Holley 600 sitting on top of it......

But I'm still thinking it could at least use a better cam.

It just doesn't seem to have the power it should have. I know I've got some carb issues I'm working out, but now it doesn't even seem like the secondaries are opening. I think the old worn out 390 with a 2 barrel that was in the '69 ran better. It' s that doggy.

Well, cam and carb are an easy change. I've been considering selling my 390 that I have, since I'm using a 351W on the 67.

If you do that keep me in mind. It's a GT isn't it? Running condition?

I'm probably going to take the 670 Street Avenger off the '69 and put it on the Highboy tomorrow and see how it acts. Then at least I'll know if it's a carb problem or not. I love that 670 SA, but they're about $400 now and I can't spend that kind of money on it right now.

Yeah, it's got the GT heads on it, and I'll let you know if I decide to part with it. If I remember right, I think it's a 63 block, with the larger webbing on the main journals also.

Hmmmm... that engine might be a nice little upgrade to the old 352 in my 67.

Yes it would. Might need to be gone through, though.

Maybe I should bring my truck down to you Pat... you can swap in the 390 for "practice" before getting too far on your truck.

Rob
Bring it down to me. I'll have that 352 out and that 390 in after about 4 hours. 67-72 are the easiest things to pull the engine out of. You can leave that 352 here for payment.

Oh, don't forget the Budweiser!!!!
