TTB bracket bolts came loose

Sunday on the way home I heard some unusual knocking noises coming from the front end. When I got home I grabbed a flash light and looked under the front end at the front suspension and could see the TTB bracket that bolts to the cross member was loose.

My truck is a 92 F250 4X4 5.8L

Is this a common occurrence or just a one time thing?

I got under there and cleaned everything up and used some RED Loctite thread locker and tightened everything down. Hopefully I will not have to mess with that again.

Loctite should take care of it. Does it have nylon locking nuts?

No, they are not Nylocks, just the standard fanged nuts.

Semi common and YES those nuts are the "crush" style. But red locktite works better

Well then they were stretched/worn out because they went on really easy like a regular flanged nut. I am sure being a crush style lock nut Ford would want $10 each for them. i will monitor them regularly to make sure they stay tight. if they loosen up again I will buy new crush nuts and use more lock tite.

If they loosen again replace all the bolts, washers and nuts with grade 8 and used Nylock nuts

also inspect the crossmember, when loose they tend to wallow out the holes in the crossmember.

they are also an odd size bolt that is not carried by all parts houses.

Any third member from a full size Ford will bolt into your TTB beam, including the D50s from the high GVWR F250s.

I'd also inspect the crossmember for cracks. Every time I've encountered loose pivot bracket bolts it's been the result of a crack running through the mounting holes.
