292 in place of a 361 ?
I have a 61 F600 with a 292 in it . I bought a 68-72 F600 roller for the power steering box . After looking at 61's frame I have decided to use the later model frame and mount the 61 cab on it. The engine is gone out of the 68-72 F600 will the 292 bolt up to the later bell housing ? I assume it had a 361 in it . If the 292 won't bolt up will a 390 bolt up ? This is a Frankenstein project . I will be cutting the frame behind the cab just like the American Coleman Co did so the Rockwell transfer case out of the 61 can be used . I have found a IH bus frame to slide under the front half to lengthen the wheel base. Thanks for any input.

Engine Interchange
You can install the 292 in the newer frame if you have the complete Y block setup complete from front mt to bellhousing assembly. If you want to use a 390 you will need the FT bell and a flywheel from a 330MD , and a front mount from a medium duty 330 or a earlier front pickup mount . I have a 57 F600 with a 390 /5spd/2spd rear that I built. If you need more info contact me.
