replaced power window motor

Today I replaced the driver side power window motor for my 2003 expedition. the good news it that I now have power to my drivers side window, the bad news is that the button is working in reverse. To go down I have to press up, and to go up I have to press down. When pressing in the down direction usually one quick press has the window go down all the way, that feature is still there, but the window goes up. All the other windows work properly. Is there something that I did wrong? I was following a step by step post for changing a regulator but I stopped at the motor.

Please help,

Sounds like your motor is wired backwards . Did you have to cut your old plug of the old motor and reuse it ?

No I didn't have to cut to re-wire, it came with a pig-tail attachment. I don't think I could hook it up any other way, but I will check it out.

This happened to me recently when I replaced both windows motors in my Daughter's 05 Grand Am. One side was perfect, but the other side worked in reverse. What I did for the reverse operating one was to remove both terminals from the connector, and then reinsert them opposite of where they were. I plugged the connector back in and that one now worked properly.
