Ford or Mercury vin??

Hello everyone, Long time reader on this great site and finally have a question I cant find here.

I just got a 1951 f1 pickup and the vin on the frame does not start with the usual F1R1...... it starts with BDA83AH51-3698 . Is this a Ford or Mercury Vin? Thanks

You have an early 51 Ford F1 pickup from Canada. BD is the code for Ford. If it were a Mercury, like mine, the vin would start with MDA. Other info coded there shows it's a standard trim cab, built in Windsor, ONT.

Congratulations on your new truck!
