Invoice Fuel Charge and Adv Assessment

I did a search on this topic, and found that some buyers were able to get the dealer to delete these alleged mandatory fees. Some say they are actual fees that the dealer must pay, some say that the dealer may get the fees back at some point.

Have you new buyers been successful in getting the dealer to delete these fees which are alleged part of the dealer invoice?

I was printed out an invoice at a dealership that had a $860 adv assessment and a $131 fuel charge. I did not move forward with the deal for other reasons but I would have tried to fight these charges had I continued. How much were your charges for these items?

Just take it off the top of your offer.
It's all in the way you negotiate, Best way of course is if you have the cash on hand.
They can slip all kinds of fee's in on a finance deal.

If you can at all manage it pay cash, then you have lots of leverage.

Allegedly it is a factory imposed fee to the dealer for providing local advertisement, along with a mandatory gasoline/diesel surcharge and destination fee. It is supposed to vary somewhat by region. Several dealers have told me that it is a fee that they must pay, so they pass it on to the buyer.

You can get the dealer to waive any fee if you talk well enough. They will discount the vehicle how ever makes you feel most giggly, whether it's waived fees or money off the MSRP.
