Trans-Pacific Tonner

A couple days ago with the revival of the 'beater' thread, I received a 'profile message' from a man in Australia who felt he had my '53 f350 shown in that thread. I wrote him back and it was easily confirmed. I sold it about 5 years ago and it went North over the Border into Canada. The Canadian owner later wrote me and said he had changing family situations, so he had it listed on 'bring a trailer .com'. So here it is! I bought it from Dick and Mike's Hot Rod Garage in Minot ND. The title was signed off by the original owner, who's name appears in faded paint on the doors. Bishkemp V. Nordstrom. Apparently he owned Farmers Spraying Service in Minot. There is also an Aeronca Crop duster painted in the center of the door. The man I sold it to added an exhaust stack and did some maintenance, but otherwise kept it as I had. The Aussie says he has no plans to paint it, just mechanical work. Before he drove it to Canada, Brian and I replaced an exhaust manifold, even though my hose clamp and hardened deck screw repair was still holding fine. (Note the Ford Script' plug wires). Glad to know it is being loved and cared for. Two things, does anyone know anything about it's life in Minot? And what is a profile message as opposed to a regular PM?

That truck really has gotten around. Excellent use of a radiator clamp and a really strong screw!

I'd have to say, that comes close to the top of the cootie-bob list!

'Manifold in a sling'

I prefer the 'Gary McGuyver' nickname they have given me at the local Napa store, but I gotta admit that's a perfect expression for THIS repair. The manifold cracked all the way off just as we were to head out with the camper for the weekend. I kinda had my *** in a sling. Couldn't believe the purchaser wanted to change it out before heading home to Canada! Oh, and no original flathead parts were in any way harmed or mistreated in this repair.....
