OK fellers, Ive spent several hours with the search feature and can't find my answer so here goes.
Spent some time yesterday replacing the rag joint in my steering shaft,(see signature), and discovered that something is not as it should be. The shaft at the ujoint is DD and the end of the ujoint is 3/4"x 36 spline. The end of the shaft was also buggered terribly by a torch. Since Ive already purchased a HD rag joint ($40), I would like a new shaft down to there. Borgeson lists what I want for 78-79 bronco but only double ujoint for pickup. Will the bronco unit work on my truck? One source says they are both 3/4'x36 at the column end? $100 difference between the two shafts could be spent towards my new redhead gearbox.
Thanks, Carl
Summit Racing shows the ragjoint unit will fit. I used the double ujoint on mine because my rag joint was saturated and I decided to eliminate it all together. As long as you trim it up following the directions there is no reason it should not work.
