95 bronco 5.8/e4od to 4.9/m5od
OK like the title says I've got a a 95 bronco with a tired 5.8 and a bad e4od. The shop that I work at has a 95 f150 with the 4.9/m5od combo. The truck has 49k original miles on it but the body and frame are rusted badly. The questions I have if anyone can answer are.
1. Can I just swap the motor, exhaust and engine wiring harness and computer and have it work
2. Will I have to do much the the fuel system like the pump lines and such
I'm hoping it's all just plug and play that's what it looks like so far but I thought I'd ask any insight would be greatly appreciated

Being the same year models I think they would physically swap right over. I also suspect the fuel lines etc. you mentioned are also the same. The gearing in the bronco will probably be higher with the 5.8 than what the truck had with the 4.9 The 300/6 is a torque motor that works hard at low r.p.m. It probably wont be a huge difference, but will be different. It will work but most likely wont be optimal.

It's certainly a doable job, frame towers and mounts have to be changed and some of those are riveted to the frame so they will have to be ground off and bolted back on, the rad and hoses have to be changed, all engine wiring, computer, accessories and the exhaust system of course, and you will need different driveshafts and hopefully they're both 4wd trucks because a 2wd trans cannot be easily converted to 4wd.

I've done the transmission swap before. The only thing that I will have to worry about mechanically is the rear drive shaft.
The part that I'm most concerned about is the wiring. I haven't done this kind of swap on a efi engine before.
What I'm hoping for is that I can just take the engine wiring harness for the 4.9 and plug it into the bronco where the 5.8 harness plugs in. Then swap the computers. I'm just hoping its not much more complicated than that. Both trucks are 95 model year, and both have the same gear ratio and speed density

Took a wile to get back. I'm just trying to do my part and not leave any unfinished posts in case someone else wants to try the same swap.
Well the swap is a success! drives like a new truck it was simply plug and play. I ended up rewiring the whole bronco using the trucks wiring harnesses. But on these year trucks is surprisingly easy. I did have to work some voodoo magic on the back window but it works.
The only part I had to buy was a rear drive shaft for a 5 speed bronco. By the way thanks for you guys help
