Real Gem on Craigslist...huge price, but nice.

A guy in Santa Anna is selling his Dad's truck-he says 39K original miles and is "serious"
about it...is that even possible after all those years?

Unique paint work...isn't that an aftermarket front bumper though?

Well........, the bumper does look a little wide doesn't it. And........, I remember 1965, and even then unless you were restoring a pre-war car or truck nobody bought wide whitewalls. They were on the way out by the late 50's.

Dads old truck has had some extensive work done on it.

bumpers like that were often dealer installed, it could have been on the truck since new.

Looks like someone scrubbed the instrument panel often and vigorously.

Well definitely over priced by a factor of 2 at a minimum. Nice Dennis Carpenter hood emblem which will pit in the second year.

No VIN, but if a 65 then why does it have Ford blue valve covers and intake manifold? Then there seems to be silver washers under the inner apron bolts which is not stock. Also that tacky one size fits all upper radiator hose. That alone is a $2000 fine!

She has been redone, throughout, which leaves a lot of whys...?

I was thinking of ordering replacement chrome exterior door handles from Dennis. Is there a pitting problem I should know about?

Numberdummy would have this guy crying like a little girl by now.

Looks to me like very little of this truck is original.

My handles are NOS so I wouldn't know but I do know about the hood emblem. I put a used one back on which was missing just a little red paint without the pits.

Front bumper

I could be wrong (I am a lot!) but I was thinking it looked like a front bumper from a '72 thru '77..

I am always suspicious of these low mileage claims when the shifter collar has been replaced and not painted. He did paint the tow hitch ball. Cluster has been worked over with something. Methinks the man doth lie. JMHO!

Was a dash pad available in the 65?
Also, did anyone actually call or text for the story?
