IS there a special tool to get the old wires out of the factory plugs?

Noticed a lot of brittle/frayed wires coming from the cab to the TFI (no wonder it wont start). Is there a replacement harness available, or a special tool to get the old wires out on the plugs? (84 F-150,302)
Thanks

Yes, there is, but I'm not sure which connector you're talking about. AMP, Deutsch, and WeatherLock connector tools are cheap and can be had at any cable or electronics supply. Try here Cables and Connectors ~Bill

I have just used a tiny screwdriver, like the ones used for glasses, but longer.

The best replacement harness is the one that connects to a DSII distributor...
