No Limit Rack/Pinion

I looked into this once before but never got an answer.
I've been interested in the rack/pinion kit for a while. Main thing stopping me is I felt like a rack pinion wouldn't hold up to a large truck, however after thinking about it, a lot of trucks now come stock with rack/pinion. My truck weighs less than a new F150 or maybe even a crown vic.

Anyway, does anyone know what rack this kit comes with? I want to make sure it's something I can get through NAPA if it ever goes out. Also I'd like to take a look at one in person and see how beefy it looks. If it's sourced from an F150 then I'll probably get it but if they're sourced from something like an 80's Pinto then might think twice.

I emailed No Limit about this last year and never heard back. Anyone know?

Colin are you running a straight axle? Seems to me that would be problematic, connecting to the steering column. Or I may need more coffee
Merry Christmas!

Yes, straight axle. The rack mounts to the axle and connects to the steering column via slip yoke. A lot of people don't like this when they first hear it but practically every drive shaft in the world uses the same system while transferring much high load and much more in/out movement.

Maybe im wrong but classic performance products makes a almost bolt on power steering kit for way less then what that system will cost after a PS pump etc for it. Im not a expert on rack and pinion though. But to me without knowing the specifics on why they make rack and pinion vs just power steering it seems to me like ud be better off with the CPP power steering.lol

Do you have a link to the kit you're talking about? I looked at their site and couldn't find much info. The couple kits I found seemed to be much more than the No-Limit kits and again wasn't a whole lot of info on what it came with.

Now that I look at it that might be a better option to the rack/pinion, especially since I'm building mine to be more of a truck than a hot rod cruiser.
Seems even the steering ratio is a about the same as the rack/pinion but you have a strength/reliability of a steering box.
I'll have to do some more thinking on it.

Its cheaper, tried and true, and everyone loves power steering Im making my 59 f100 my weekend driver and is going to be a street racer. Something I can drive around to the girlfriends house and then on a date, then I can hit the drag strip for a guys night out and peal rubber with all the redneck buddies.lol g nothing like 500+ HP

And ill be doing the power steering swap with a idid it column and ron francis wiring harness.
