Definately interested in this thread. My F250 was 500 bucks too. Those big brakes are a bear to play with...mostly because I had just finished mine.

Course this isnt your first rodeo where it was mine

Scratch that $125. We worked out a horse trade instead.

Only pic I took after washing! I'm usually better at taking pics. It's probably going to need several more washes to be acceptably clean.

Tires! 265/75-16 BFG's $140 off Craigslist. 2 have a lot of tread, 2 have less, but they all look to be in very nice condition. I settled on used because I really need to get some tires on it but I don't want to drop a ton of cash on it right now. Just need to scrounge up some 16" wheels.

Grand total: 720.50

16 inch wheels should not be hard to find at all in 8 lug. Plenty round here for 100-300 a set

Wheels are a toughie. Not many suitable ones for sale around here and wheels can make or break the whole look of a truck. Since used ones are 200-300 and new ones are a little over 400 delivered to my door, I am really leaning towards new. That way I know for sure they are round, straight and curb rash free.

This is sort of the look I hope to eventually achieve..... eventually....

Hey, what's behind the tape residue?

Oh it's the "Low Fuel Economy" light! Must have been on all the time!

What year is the motor? i see what looks like the Duraspark module on the drivers side outboard from the brake master. yeah, with a 460 the 3.54 gears should be great. those 16.5 chrome spokes and wide base bias ply tires say it sat in a barn quite a while....helluva score for $500

It does have a Duraspark, but the wiring seems to indicate it may have been installed by the PO.

New carby. To me at least. Speed Demon 750 vac secondary. Traded my 950hp to a buddy of mine for it. Came with the fancy fuel line.

You might want to do a bit of checking to see if the VIN on the frame matches the warranty plate. If you have a Low Fuel Economy light in the instrument cluster, that is a 1975 feature ONLY. Also, the 460 would have come with Duraspark in 1975. Now, if you find the ViN number don't match, I'm not sure I'd run to DMV and tell them. That would open a whole can of worms. BUT, at least YOU will know what you have. Basically, something here doesn't add up...

I might check that out, not that I want to stir up any trouble, but it would be nice to know.

I am finding evidence that it had a dash fire at some time in it's life, so it's entirely possible that the instrument cluster may have been replaced. Maybe even the whole harness, I don't know. This truck is hardly a virgin. The wiring is severely hacked in some places and I know that the hood was replaced at some point.
