how much lift

just bought a 1990 f150 XLT Lariat 4X4 with the straight 6. id like to level my truck out and also run a little bigger tire. i was thnking of something in the 2&1/2 inch lift range. is there a kit that will lift my truck and level it at the same time. i dont want a 2&1/2 inch lift and end up with the front still lower than the back. also what size tire can i except to run with a small lift. how do i re-calibrate the speedometer and how will it affect performance. thanks in advance.

You can just buy a leveling kit that will raise the front 1 1/2" to 2" and even it up with the back. They don't do anything to the back. You should be able to run 32X11.50's without any problem, 33X12.50's might rub a little on the radius arms. To adjust the speedo, you need to replace the little plastic gear on the end of the speedo cable that goes into the t-case.

thanks. which leveling kit would you reccommend. ive seen one that sells on ebay and says they will retain the same factory ride. the person has good feedback. but just woundering if anyone out there has tried a leveling kit and been happy with the ride quality.

Hopefully someone who has done this will jump in with more info, but you will DEFINITELY need an aligment done after installing the springs.

Good luck
