Not much, the bolts would fit. The water pump is smaller, only fits its own timing cover. Fuel pump is different, the arm is straight. The heads would bolt up, but the water passages don't line up. Distributor is different, has a tang drive. Oil pump is different because of the tang drive. Rocker arms and shafts will fit. Oil pan fits car to car, truck to truck. Intake would be slightly smaller ports, probably could get it to seal.

Gerotor oil pump may be rebuildable with a hex drive kit (Melling K-51?). Starter is likely a keeper.
Hey, on a Rat Rod, anything fits.

There are two different 239 Y-blocks. and there are parts from both that interchange with other Y's. Here are two threads that will help with what works.

You'll want to use the 239 fuel pump with the 239 timing cover too.

So the 239 fuel pump will work on the 272 if the timing cover is changed out if so I will use it if it works I will have to test it I was thinking of goin with a elec. pump and a regulator what you think is best ?

You might want to rethink about using the 239 stuff. Ford went to a larger water pump on the larger engines for a reason. I think a mechanical fuel pump would be fine, you wouldn't have to add the extra switches to kill the electric fuel pump in the event of an accident.

I will be the first, but, probably not the last to suggest that the term "rat rod" gets the goat of many members of this otherwise warm and welcoming forum. The general consensus seems to be that many a restoreable truck is converted into a poorly "engineered" and all too often unsafe vehicle. So, have fun but please be safe.
I'm just sayin'

I was going to say that as hard as it is to find the early water pump I'd rather upgrade to the newer style WP

Well, now you got to show us pictures! It sounds like you are just keeping the patina, as they say in some circles. Patina is just a fancy word for rust and small dents and scratches!

Rat Rod...just did all of this. Everyone is right who has answered back. Also remember about the 3 bolt carb mount on the intake manifold. The later Y blocks, 292 & 312's (I think the 272's also) had a 4 bolt carb to the manifold; plus, they had no draft tube because the pcv valve was introduced in those years of the higher cubic inch Y blocks. Any questions, just email.
