Ford E350 alloy wheels are different after 08?

I have a set of the 8 hole Ford 16" alloy wheels that are 8x6.5" on my 2006 E350 van (as seen in link). They came off an early 90's ford truck. I am buying a 2013 E350 and I am hoping to bolt these wheels and tires on my newer van. I noticed many of the OEM wheel websites list the wheels as fitting up to 07 or 08 E350, but not any years after. The factory steel wheels that are on the 2013 are still 16". I understand I will have to have the tire pressure sensors taken off the steel wheels and installed on my old wheels, but did something else change on the newer E350 vans that doesnt allow this wheel to fit? Thanks in advance for your input!

Your van fits 8x6.5inch bolt pattern rims. And E series 8 lug or any chevy or dodge 8 lug or pre-95 ford 8 lug. Post-95 ford 8 lugs are 8x110mm

Thanks...I know the bolt pattern is the same on both vans.

Is there some compatibility issue or valid reason that the OEM wheel websites show these wheels listed to fit up to 08 and not on the 09-14 vans?? Brake rotors too big? Sensors wont fit? Back space changed?

Better yet, does anyone out there have these wheels on their 09-14 van?? Is there complications or compatibility issues?

08 and up vans have a bigger rotor but it's only an inch or so. JWA did a post on the brakes. Search 08 brake upgrade with photos on here.

Yes, I'm aware of the bigger rotor. I have seen JWA's pics too. I am still hoping to squeeze these wheels on. Maybe with the thicker aluminum walls the tolerance is too tight. I have seen the other OEM ford alloy five star patterned wheels on the newer vans.
Does anyone out there have these 8 hole aluminum wheels on their 09-14 van?? Is there complications or compatibility issues?

TMPS doesn't always fit older wheels so that might be the issue as well.

So far the tire shops have told me that the valve hole size, and wall thickness of the wheel will not be an issue for the sensors.

Got the old 8 hole ford/alcoa wheels installed on my new to me 2013. No issues with the fit! The inside of the wheel has tighter brake caliper clearance, (being aluminum vs steel), but it has been explained to me that as long as there is clearance, you are okay as there is no change in the relationship to cause hitting. I had to go to ford to have the sensors reset, as the low pressure light went on immediately. They reprogramed the sensors with a little remote which took two minutes. I am a big fan of these old ford truck wheels. Not the prettiest and most modern looking things, but they are strong, hubcentric appropriate fitting, and can be found affordably. The thought of spending a lot of money for a more stylish wheel that may not work well is enough for me to keep these old wheels going...

I'm not a fan of the cost of the center caps and I heard that they tend to fall off. It may look unfinished, but I like the look with the hubs exposed and a deep lug nut.

Looks great! I LOVE the Alcoa wheels, and I'm guessing their OEM corrosion resistance beats the heck out of aftermarket wheels. In Michigan I have had old Keystone mags (massive chrome peeling), sawtooth American wheels (massive oxidation) and other aftermarket wheels which just don't hold up to Michigan salt.

I even had a 2nd set of wheels/tires (stock steelies) for my old '86 GMC van, but I got lazy changing over and hated the look with the stockers.

Again, these wheels say *truck* to me in a good way; Alcoa makes the same wheels for semis. I HATE the new vogue Chinese cast stuff that looks like Transformer toys with all kinds of fake allen heads, spokes that extend to the wheel lip, etc. My ex BIL had some kind of chrome mags on his F150 that had pointy Viking war helmet center caps the just made me laugh.

I have been into custom cars and trucks since I started reading Hot Rod, Rod and Custom, and Car Craft magazines in 1962 (at age of 10) so I have a vintage and functional esthetic that goes back many years.

I don't remember your otherwise posting that you went for the 2013 van with certainty, but the Advance Trac alone would make me feel better driving folks around in the van (we just had a triple date in our van last Friday night). And I think the price on used 1-2 year old E350's is an absolute steal right now in the world of all vehicles if that is what you want and need. (I remember 1 year old 2007 Tauruses for $10-11k in 2008--I wanted to buy one just cause they were such a good deal, and I like Tauruses.)

Nice early Christmas present for you and your family, Grant! May you have many safe miles and many good times with your new van!

George
