Are you sure on the 150 psi switch? Max allowed for shop air here is 100 psi. Plus i note those compressors are only continuous rated up to 100 psi.
The reason for the 150psi switch is because it will be filling airbags up to 100psi, so the tank pressure needs to be greater, also the greater pressure differential from tank to tyre will give a quicker tire fill rate.

Not too worried about continuously rated to only 100psi, as the only time when they are under continuous load (rattle gun), they only need to put out 90-100psi.

I have been looking into this and exploring the dual Alternator option ie: install compressor in that location. Having looked at it all I think a Sanden or York could be mounted next to the alternator on top and piggy back a single V-belt from the PS pump. I think this would 1. help it clear the IC pipes. 2. allow for a still stock belt system on the vitals with correct tensions and 3. as it still a clutched system you can leave it off when not required, hopefully a single pulley and belt length will be easier to source.
When I get home in Feb I plan to have a good long hard look under the hood with a six pack and see if there is another better/stronger option? ie: bolt piggy back pulley on to fan hub and perhaps go the other side???? Basically something that could be removed easily and show no signs of ever being there, but when it is there not look to too redneck??????

Well got the 16" ATX Ledge wheels with some 315x75x16 Micky Thomson Muddies, very happy they look the goods. And yes looking into the price and availability for the tyres the 16s were the way to go, fills out the guards nicely, only a slight rubbing on full lock.

The greyish rims match the paintwork well , made for it haha!

Now I just need to fix the wandering steering, replaced the ball joints, tightened the bos) and replaced the track rod but I fear a steering box rebuild may be on the cards.

If I can work out how to add a picture of the new wheels I will post one??

Thanks for all your input.

Only just saw this.

The Sanden compressor fits - and actually came standard on a bunch of cars sold in Aussie, so you can probably pick one up cheap at a junk yard. Here is a good read on how to modify it so it doesn't need oil: Grungles Homepage

The only thing with the 7.3 is getting the brackets to fit the compressor in the spot the 2nd alternator goes. I think Clay sells the whole kit (compressor that is already setup and bracket) for ~$600 or so?

Do these guys do a kit that suits?

EndlessAir Compressor

They are in Melb, so freight should be less.

That is the pick of them. Pity its a $150 Sanden compressor (which you could probably get for $25 a wreckers) with a slight internal modification to take grease.

Same as the endless? The price makes the complete kit mentioned from Clay good value.

Interesting that site sells a lot of Aussie gear, gotta be a good thing
