56 F100 fuel tank pickup thread?

Gent, good day and good afternoon.
I'm looking to change the fitting on top of the tank where the hard line screws into the top. It looks like more sort of flare fitting, but I need to know what the thread is so I can convert it to something else.
I appreciate your time and effort on this.
Ta muchly!

Have you still got the hard line or fitting that goes into it?
Take it to a hardware or parts store so they can match it up
and tell ya what you have.
Is this the behind the seat tank? I believe it is a pressure
fitting but don't know the thread count or pitch. I do not
think it is pipe thread but is a pressure fitting thread.
Sorry, I doubt any of this helps very much.

Merry Christmas to you

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Yep, I do have the fitting, I'm just doing the time efficient bit by trying to find out on here first then mail order it. I want to convert it to AN6, and use it as the return for the swirl pot. If I can't get a one piece adapter to AN6, I'll probably just TIG weld a fitting over it.

Thanks again.

I see. I have seen you and your work on here and I bet ya will
get er done M8. I do wish I could help more. I don't have a truck
or tank handy to look at. But I can see in my head what your trying
ta do. Seems to me this fitting was used fr many many years and
should be quite common. Maybe try and Google up the info ya need.
Google is your freind they say.

Thanks for the heads up, but it's not quite there. I just want a screw in adapter that fits the standard thread, and turns it neatly into AN6, that doesn't look it was knocked in with a banjo. No worries chaps, as previously said, I appreciate your time. I'll head to my tame hydraulic shop at the weekend with the hard pipe for a conflab!

I got so excited I forgot to come back with a response.

It's a 1/2" SAE 20 tpi thread with an inverted flare fitting,possibly with a 37 degree seat.

Fankoo and goodnight!
