Project OVER KILL Part 1: New Suspension
Here's my plans, step in and feel free to correct me if I'm off.
I'm going to ditch the springs at all four corners of my truck.
For the rear I plan to run a double triangulate 4-link with 5k pound bags with 10" of up and down travel (as soon as I find a set). I will be making the brackets from scratch here in my garage. The ladder bars I made will be useless but I'm sure I've got a friend or two that will take them off my hands so they won't be scrap.
The front is where I began to have some problems that I'm not sure how to over come. I plan to run a 3-link set up but am unsure as how to keep the axle located at center because I will not be able to run a triangulated link set up there. The front will also have 5k lb bags with the same amount of travel. This way I will be able to drop the truck down to almost factory ride height. I'll just have to get another set of tires (I already have a set of 315/75r16s in the garage that have only been used one winter because there snow tires and I don't drive the truck in the winter any more). I believe the snow tires will still be too big because I want to get as close to factory ride height as possible to make the truck practical and take to the strip a few times a year.
I already have the air tank and compressor. The tank I have to finish making. I used 4 pieces of 3" ss sch40 30" long welded them together to go up where the spare tire was mounted. All I have to do to have that done is weld the ends up and weld the fittings on for everything. The compressor is more then adequate, though I don't recall the specs on it.
This is the short version of the plan but as I build I will take pictures as I build and buy things.
I'm on a real world budget so this will be a long build and process. I'm open to any good ideas or thoughts because I'm sure there are a few things that I may be over looking and I know we have a few guys here who are much more experienced at this kind of stuff then I am. So any and all help is appreciated.
EDIT: I am aware Cory/Ziggy did this same idea but I'm planning to take it a step further. The build thread that he had going doesn't really help out as far as a lot of things go but I've taken some of his ideas and designes into consideration.

I know that this is not exactly what your looking for but you may be able to see some ideas as to base your system from
One Up Offroad 500 Series 10-12 Inch Suspension Lift System - 1999-2004 F250/F350 4wd - 2000-2004 F250/F350 SRW 4wd Lifts

Tracking him down isn't exactly easy to do if you don't know him personally. As far as I know he hasn't been on here in at least a year.
As of right now I have my bags picked out. I know roughly the lengths of the tubes I'm going to put on. I'll be spending the next couple days picking threw the different joint options. I'm also thinking of going 1.75" OD x (?? Still tubing) just for the looks factor. If I go 1" or 1.25" tubing I believe it will just have a goofy look under the truck being as big as it is and 1.75" will make it look much more proportional.
I still have a few things to ponder until I start throwing money into the mix yet. As far as I can tell this is going to be at least a "3 part build" leaving nothing to be had throughout the whole truck. The suspension is just a good jump and one of the first things I want to address.
