Spindle swap 70 ranchero?

Spindle swap 70 ranchero?
Anyone tried to swap in a mustang ll front suspension into a 70 71 ranchero?
How bout some front link spindles that will work so I could put a rack n pinion in and get rid of the rear link and slave cylinder etc.? I'd rather do that than the M2 swap for the easier to do factor.
I am in the process of cramming a 3.5 ecoboost in my '70 chero and the rear sump oilpan is going to give me problems with the rear steer knuckles spindles.
The existing frame rails look nice and flat and seems like they would lend themselves to the M2 front end well. Would like to be able to trim the shock towers a bit too for clearance for the turbos hanging out there.
Any ideas?

I guess i have to resign myself to pouring some more major dollars at this problem. The fatman Torino ifs strut package starts at $2,095 and i would need to source another thousand bucks worth of rack etc.
But... if i tried to just change to front link spindles i would be left with a shock-tower-clearance issue anyway.
I'm this far now... no turning back.
Thanks for the help dustybumpers!

I cut 2 M II's out, and tried to make one work. Really made more work for later, There are angles, and geometry in there I didn't get right
Second go round, I bought a kit from HEIDTS

Used my lower control, upper control, shocks springs, and rack.
I bought the strut rod kit from them. I put new ball joints in, used the mustang calipers and rotors. They are 4 lug for now. I understand Ford Ranger rotors and calipers bolt up to give you 5 lug.

The 70 ranchero was built on the Fairlane / Torino chassis. if I was going to up grade the front I would try to go to a 2003 or newer Crown vic . Pretty much a modular design rack and pinion power steering assembly. I have seen them used on the 50's and 60's trucks. you just have to do some measuring to see if they are close to the right width. they contain there own shock mounts

Ya... I've seen the Fast n Loud boys use that setup too.
I should do some more research.
I had a friend tell me it was similar to the Mustang platform and I could get away with Mustang front control spindles and then just position a manual M2 rack n pinion to steer. I hope to not have to add a power steering pump to the ecoboost motor as they used some electric power assist system.
