Saw my first one with last month's rent. Thought it was fake.
It depends how you use them. I've loved mine, and their customer backing.
I think you walked out on top

bit the bullet and went to the interstate store..... my set was at 44 month's and the pro rate put me at 85 a battery for a new pair of mega trons, the model battery i got has 30 month free replacement. so 195 dollars out the door..... if i had to buy a pair at full tilt is be looking at $350+
is what it is.
the costco kirkland's were going to me my 2nd choice. for a group 65 they are getting 94 dollars each.

Family all together for the Holidays?
To whom is 80 a sibling, him or her?
Got an in-focus photo of that business card?

Sorry Pop, no focus'd pic.
His sister is the one changing the diapers.
Grandma is holding the baby girl - my better half.

Does anyone besides me do a periodic "equalization charge" on their batteries?
I seem to get very-good battery life on my vehicles.

Have a great weekend, Sean.
We're going to go cruising on Newport Harbor tomorrow evening to watch the Parade of Lights, then at Bob's (r2millers) for their annual get-together on Christmas Eve.
Merry Christmas if I don't "see" you closer to then.

Equalization
Merry Christmas to all, we're headed out today also.
Keep those cameras handy for our 'Where am I' thread.

I pretty-much follow the prescription here:
Equalizing Charge For Stationary Batteries
An accurate hydrometer is a key. Someday I'm going to buy an optical reflectometer for this range of specific gravity.
I use a home-made charger/eliminator that is basically a Variac, a 24-volt power transformer, a bridge rectifier, and some HUGE capacitors. I built it about fifty years ago, and it still works just fine. The current meter still works, but I now have to monitor voltages with a DVM, as the years have taken their toll on that meter movement.
The thing is about eighteen inches high and at least a foot square footprint, and weighs at least forty pounds. I kinda' think of it as my "cloodge" charger, but it puts out lotsa' amps for extended periods when needed, without getting even warm.
I have much-more sophisticated DC power supplies with both voltage and current limitation, but I always seem to come back to this one when it comes to wet-cell batteries.

And............
Hollywood Park has had its run.
There are no more Bob Hopes, Al Jolsons, Walt Disneys, Bing Crosbys, Sam Goldwyns, and Jack Warners.
It may be the Sport of Kings, but the kings no longer attend.
Godspeed the spirit of Seabiscuit!

Inventors start with the best of intentions...
The weapon, he said, was designed to protect his motherland, not to be used by terrorists or thugs. “This is a weapon of defense,” he said. “It is not a weapon for offense.”

ROTFLMAO. Yeah right, it was designed as a defense weapon, not on offense weapon. So all you people out there using it as an offensive weapon better stop, or someone will slap your wrist. The gun might explode once it finds out it is used as an offensive weapon, oh wait, there is no way it knows the difference. Bang goes that theory.
