I guess Its within my family. lol, many stories from my dad and his brother; my dad made it around 60 miles without a radiator hose WITHOUT overheating once...

Had that problem once with my 55 Chevy. Driving from Oswego to LI. When I tore the engine down, the normally brittle cast iron rings could be twisted like a pretzel.
