Autom. Transmission Problem
I have a F250, 1989, 5.7 ltr engine, C6 Transm.
And let me tell you my problem:
In the morning the front of my truck points downhill. In order to get going I have to shift in reverse to back up. As soon as I take my foot off the break instead driving backwards the truck runs about 8 feet forward until the reverse gear kicks in.
The other day I ended up in neighbors flower bed. The lady doesn't like me any more.
I bet one of you guys has a good idea what is going on here.
A little advice would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
My plow truck (E4OD) does the same thing has done so for couple years or better, after sits for week or so nose down it won't move right away fluid has drained back. After it's sat I don't try to move it at first, I start it then simply shift it from reverse to drive back and forth a few times before ever attempting to make it move.
Once I feel it "jump" into forward and reverse gear (nothing at first) then I know its ready to go, only if sits though when driven daily it isn't necessary fluid hasn't had time to drain back.
Park it nose up it doesn't happen, I like to park nose up anyway rain whatever runs out of the box rather than collect up front.
Nothing I'm concern in the least with trying to correct for, just isn't that big of deal and has no effect on trans function otherwise. I just give it plenty of time to get its juices flowing before attempting to make it move the first time so I know is not slipping doing so.
