470 and 2290 codes on 2006 F250 diesel 6.0 super duty

I have a 2006 F250 6.0 diesel super duty - I had the high pressure oil pump replace about 6 months ago. Now I was driving up hill - the truck lost power and died. I cannot start it - it will crank but not start. The codes that came up now are 470 and 2290. Does anyone have any idea what this could be now??????

Since this is engine specific I moved it the 6.0 experts. Good luck and welcome to FTE.

STC Fitting??

You would think they would have installed the updated STC fitting But who knows

Basicaly you possibly need STC, Standpipes and Dummey Plugs to address your year for HPO Issues

Couplwe other possibilities but not Common for them

I believe this is the time when Blade usually asks for IPR and ICP readings. Do you have a way to monitor live data?

Sounds like they reused the old STC fitting. Which is likely the reason the HPOP was replaced in the first place.

Maybe the STC seperated and they reconnected and installed it on the new HPOP?

A similar scenario was my neighbor's 2007 F250. I air checked the system and told him the STC was bad, but since I was leaving town I couldn't change it out in time for him. He's mechanically inclined, but didn't feel like dealing with it so he had it towed to the dealer.

Come back and find out they replaced the HPOP and it still "didn't run" so they then replaced the DPs, SPs. Still don't start and they finally added the updated STC.

I felt so bad he had spent so much money for nothing.

Long story short it seems they do in fact try to reuse the old style STCs on occasion.

WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT!!!!

Ummmmmm........ all '05 up replacement HPOPs come with the updated one piece branch tube connector already installed onto the pump. That said, why in the hell would anyone think of even removing the new part to try and attempt to install the old one?

Gives new meaning to "stealership" then huh? My neighbor was charged for a new HPOP, Standpipes, Dummy Plugs and STC kit.

If there is actual proof (invoice with all part numbers of the parts in the list charged to your neighbour) of what you allege, that is fraud which should most definitely be taken up with the service manager, general manager, district area rep and dealer principle if necessary.

I worked at dealerships for years and was a tech rep for Buick motor divison, the things that go on in the shop are unbelieviable. The service manager can't control all the short cuts the the flat raters do to make their time. With that said, there your sign.......not all of them do it, but a few bad apples ruin it for the rest

I don't have a problem with short cuts at all, as long as it doesn't compromise the quality of the repair in the end, or result in either the tech or customer coming in on the short end of the deal. After all, when we get a repair that sucks big hairy donkey ***** in the flat rate pay, who's the one that loses? ONLY US TECHS!!! Neither the customer nor management gives a flying rat's tail about us, but we have to tolerate being treated with contempt by the customers, whose only concern is their $50,000 ride not working right.

And what I've highlighted in bold red couldn't have been better said.
