im going to be picking up some HID reverse kits, as high as my truck is and combined with the tinted windows, i cant see anything behind me at night when parking.
These were $60 for the set of 2 27 watt led lights from amazon. My original's were 10 watt from superbrightleds.com, and paid twice as much.trucks.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=19526&pictureid=129135[/IMG]
I do have a white knight rear lighting system, that combined with my LED reverse light bulbs i have no issues seeing. I would like to add some very slim LED's that i can hide but are very bright in the future.
Its quite similar to my setup. I used these LED Flood Lights.
I have 4 of them. 2 backwards at the tail and 1 on each side at the front doors facing backwards with an 45 Angle. All 4 are activated by shifting in Reverse.
I really can recommened this setup.
OH I'm so jealous of ALL of your setups!!! Did you just splice into the tail-lights to get them activated? or is there a separate switch?

I have a separate switch for mine, that way on dark roads in mn if the vehicle behind me has his high beams on , i zap em for a second
One time i had a tailgater during the day, and my back off lights worked
I have the "super bright" LED bulbs in my reverse lights and don't like them.
This next summer when I have the X out I will also be looking at reverse light options. Personally I am not a fan of "extra" lights that don't look like they were there from the factory. However if they are small enough and fit somewhere inconspicuous and are bright I may consider.
I have been thinking of installing halogen headlight bulbs in my factory reverse housings. Sure they get to hot and might melt the housing if left on. But honestly my reverse lights are never ever on for more than a few minutes at a time ever.

I don't think that hid's are the best choice for reverse lights. They don't achieve full output for about 10 seconds after they are turned on. You will want a set of lights that are either halogen or led's. I have a set of piaa fog lights on mine. This is a very old pic and the truck looks totally different but it's how the lights are mounted.
I like the ones I put on my truck and my wife's Ex.

While they are brightish, and light up a good area behind the X they aren't "super bright". The area is lit up and fairly easy to see if you are standing outside of the X but while in the X using the mirrors stuff just isn't lit well enough for my liking.
