Well problem is the guy at summit sent me the link saying these were for an EFI 302 Fseries truck. Find out my brother got the wrong pistons for his 460 and then I ask about mine and this guy tells me that the last guy was wrong and I need the correct pistons otherwise I will be way under on the compression ratio.

Since they told you what to buy they're going to send you a call pickup tag to return them at their expense, right? I would hope so.

Nope summit sends with the box a free return label. Once I get them I just have to slap that on the box and send them back then wait for my new pistons.

Got a quick question which in a few seconds I will post a new thread but will these pistons work without bumping my compression up to much.

Well sent back the incorrect pistons when I got them then yesterday ordered the ones above. Talked to the machine shop he told me those will be a great piston to run in my truck. He also said he has worked with other people whom have used those exact same pistons in their truck and are very happy with them.
Since I ordered those pistons I had to order new rings to so on today I should get my piston rings in moly 1.5mm x 1.5mm x 4mm from sealed power also. Pistons won't be shipped off till around the 9thish.

Also today we took the crank in to be polished.
In case I didn't say this before all the parts are for the engine from my buddy that I got for $100 since the original engine is unusable.

Another thing is here is the plan for the rebuild list:
comp 31-255-5 cam
new valve springs
new water pump
new bearings (will be ordered next month probably except cam bearings which will be going in when I get the pistons and bring the block in)
New oil pump (have)
new timing chain with gears (isn't to much more with gears so figured why not)
new lifters (old ones are trashed)
might be forgetting a few things but that is pretty much all.

On the lifters I am reading that their is a .874" and a .875" for the E7TE blocks but I am not sure which ones mine are. Anybody happen to know?
Here is the links to both lifters:
.875:

.874:

Crank is polished and looks great.
Block is being honed right now. Also getting the pistons on the rods and brand new cam bearings installed.
Should get everything back the 1st of February (have another engine also in thats the reason for so long) and will be done with all the machining work and can start getting it back together.

Isn't building engines fun! Make sure you post some pics for us when you assemble the engine! Last engine I built was the 468 BBC for my boat.

I will.
After this engine build I have to build a few more engines: a golf cart engine, a trail bike engine, a boat engine (V6 Buick I believe), a 4.0L for a ranger or explorer, and lastly an engine for the stang.
I also want to build either a 302 or 351W later on with 300-400hp to go in here but that is a little ways off. If this engine wasn't bored so far over I would have done it on here but it is best to just get it running with this engine and later on build a better one.

Ya slowly but surely. Waiting for the block to get back from the machine shop.

Once it is back I still need:
cam (getting one with t-chain and lifters)
mains and rod bearings
valve cover gaskets
timing cover gasket
water pump (and gasket)
thermostat (and gasket)
valve springs
valve stem seals
exhaust manifold bolts
rear main seal
timing cover seal
might need engine mounts
transmission mount maybe
and probably a few more things I can't think of.

I can't wait to get it going even though right now I am not doing my dream build.

Anybody know if the stock torque convertor was orange? the one in my dad's 90 F150 (302 E4OD), my brothers 91 F250 (460 E4OD), our 92 F250 (351 E4OD) are all a gray in color but those are E4ODs. From what I am reading I believe it might not be stock (probably replaced when trans was rebuilt). However this is coming from the mustang 302 and C4 world not truck world so not sure.

Picked up the engine from the machine shop. Last thing I have to bring to the machine shop is the heads to have him check them. I hope at least one set is good.

It sucked I had to use the 10 F150 to bring them home but the 90 F150 had a flat and I didn't trust the spare and the 89 F250 was loaded with water. I defiantly couldn't haul the blocks with my explorer and the envoy couldn't either plus it had a flat. This month we literally had to buy 6 tires which is weird since I don't even have a dually. LOL

Overall the 10 F150 did great pulling everything home I just don't like putting stuff in the 10 F150 since it is suppose to be our luxury truck!

Installed a LED bulb in the dome light that came with 95 F250 since it doesn't fit any of the other trucks. Hopefully it will be brighter.

Also got some fog lights with the 91 F150 that I am going to install on here under the front bumper. Hopefully I can mount them with out taking off or cutting the valence. Wanted to keep it but if I have to I will be removing it.

Also trying to decide if I should go back to chrome mirrors or stay black. What do y'all think?
I don't want to much black or to much chrome so that is why it is hard to decide.
Trav

EDIT: Forgot I was going to add these pics even though I already put them in the pic thread:

I like the chrome mirrors better personally but the black ones look good on your truck in the picture.

It is hard to decide because I had chrome on before and will be adding a chrome brush guard, chrome lights, and chrome rear bumper soon.

The reason I put black mirrors on was I had them and thought they would look good and they defiantly do just with future plans are they going to fit in. LOL

I am always changing my mind on things. LOL

Ordered timing chain (w/gears), mains and rod bearings, timing cover gaskets, rear main seal, valve springs, valve stem seals, and lifters. Might be missing a thing or two but all for my 88 F150. Next month camshaft and freeze plugs. Getting closer and closer to getting her back together. T-chain, valve springs, steam seals, and lifters all Comp, bearings Sealed Power, and gaskets all Fel-Pro.

With all that I will be able to get the heads together.

List of parts still needed after these are received:
transmission mount
valve cover gaskets
intake gaskets
pcv valve
water pump
egr valve gasket
thermostat (180*)
freeze plugs (brass)
camshaft (comp 31-255-5)

belt (for smog pump delete)
oil pressure sender unit
water temp sender unit
vacuum line (rubber hose)

might have missed a thing or two but that is the general list.
