Had a great time, it was an awesome weekend. Finally saw Jackie Evancho in concert on Saturday, and then had a wonderful time off roading in the boonies with the FTE brothers (and one wife, and daughter) Even got some good photos of a southbound BNSF train.
On the way home to Fresno last night I got to race another train. He was going much faster than that one coming thru the Cajon Pass however. LOL. Spotted him south of Visalia and he continued up along side the freeway into Fresno. Lost him in Fresno but I think he goes through the Fresno yard, as I heard a train passing Shaw Ave as I was entering my house, and I know he would not be able to do 68 mph through that yard. So my bet is it was the same train.
I took some pics of the train coming down the pass, and even a short video, however, I must have erased the video from the SD card by mistake as it was not there when I downloaded the pics to the computer.
Anyway, I got in about 9:00pm last night and was so tired, all I did was unload the Bronco, and then go to bed. I'll post some of my pics later today as I need to do some work on the Jetta first. Not much different then the other pics posted, but there are a few worth looking at.

Okay, here are some of my pics.
Still trying to figure out how all that flour got on the ground. LOL.
Lunch time!
We made it!
I had never heard of this place until Sunday.
Five tracks, and only only one train came by while we were here.
Everyone signed the "visitor log"
The one train.
And a closer shot of the lead locomotive
"I know I dropped a quarter around here somewhere!"
I found the short video I took of the train passing, I will try to get it uploaded to Youtube, but it is not as good as Sean's because I did not think about taking a video of the train until the locomotive had already passed.

Okay, if this works, you should see the first video I have taken with this camera. Other than test videos at my church. I wish I had the foresight to setup before the train came down, so I could have had the locomotives in the video. And it is very apparent I did not use a tripod.

Okay, okay, just one more video
Some here's one more from close by. The train must have only been traveling at only 15-20 mph.
The brake shoes on many cars really rumbled at they passed, going down the grade.
The wheel bearings also barked back at us on some of those cars making us wonder how long they last when squealing?
With three engines, this train had to be over 150-200 cars, most all loaded with 2 containers. You have to wonder whether these are empty, being back hauled to L.A.?
One other interesting point was that just prior to the train coming around the bend, this tracks signals as see just below, had a red light over a green light?
Pops suggested that maybe the engineer can see what color the next light is down the track for early reference if necessary to stop. Not sure here?
Great day for all.
