CCV Mod question
Ever since I did all the mods to my truck, i been using more oil.
I also noticed quiet a bit of oil collecting in the valley, which seems to come from a bad seal between the turbo and the intake. What I think is happening, that the turbo now sucks additional oil through the ccv.
Anybody had this happening before? I am thinking of doing the mod, but worrying about additional oil dripping I the ground again. I do not want to pipe it into the exhaust, as I have no welder handy to weld a fitting in it.. Any info?

If you loop your hose over the brake booster you shouldn't have any oil leak out on the ground. That is a square cut oring between the turbo and ypipe, you can get a new one if needed. How much oil you going through Stephan? Do you have any other oil leaks up there?

Well.. About the cold area.. It can get into the low 40's around here on a cold winter day.. What are you talking about when you say a closed loop? I'm going to take the ccv vent off my intake today and just route a hose across the booster and then down and see how that does...

I made it to drive one day...even though I routed the ccv just past the cab, I got a lot of smell inside while in stop and go traffic.. A for I got back home, I changed the vent to be back into the intake, but left it routed over the brake booster.
If i still get a lot of oil into the intake, I will add an oil catch can, but for now, I rather have the ccv into the engine..

I seem to get a lot of oil in my intake for some reason. It may be that the filter media in the doghouse may be gone, I haven't looked. If I was to do it I would do a closed loop system with a see through bowl/ or a catch can that can be bled and then return it back to the intake.

We go through this ATLEAST once a year.....stop trying to reinvent the wheel...
I have had a CCV on all 3 of my PSD's since the 2nd day I have owned them, which is over 10 years on the 97. Its only 1 that has the hose up over the brake booster the other 2 I just ran the hose straight off the dog house, down to the frame rail and out under the cab. To this day I have never seen oil drip onto the ground from the CCV hose. I have never had oil pool in a low spot and cause high crankcase pressures, I have never had it freeze and it's 2º right now, I've driven them when its -20º and no problems.....
If you have that much oil pouring out of your CCV then you need to look at the wire mesh under the dog house or do a compression test...
