Need new brakes


Doing a power build soon would like to have the stopping power

New calipers, rotors, pads

What's a good brand for everything ??

This truck is a DD and has a small lift with 35's on it now

 

Tell us about your truck, if you tow and or haul and how much weight? I would also need to know where you are and what you have available and at what price. My 2005 is still on original rotors and pads all the way around. My plan is to go NAPA Gold and stock pads all round. But I don't have access to other alternatives like cryoslot rotors and hawk pads without paying a premium up here in Canada. I don't think you can go wrong with standard rotors and Motorcraft pads from Ford if you are running a 2005 - 2007 6.0 diesel. If you are pre 2005 with smaller brakes, then you may be better to consider aftermarket cryoslot rotors and hawk pads. But it is hard to say without more specifics on your rig. Others will also chime in and give you their experiences and tips too.

I plan on using the web to order something I've had the truck 3 years and did pads and rotors with original motorcraft first year and last year just pads

2 (both rear calipers semi seized ) so I'm looking to replace everything all around

No matter how hard I push on the peddle there's just no stoping power

Booster is new 6mtns

 

I have ART rotors and pads and love them.
With a daily weight of 12,000 lbs they really help.
I don't have any info on calipers because mine were fine so I just left them alone.
Have you flushed the power steering/ brake pump. That made a big difference on my truck.

You should go for ART and the hawks suggested above, that is pretty severe duty winter and summer. I agree with power steering flush, that's your brake booster it needs fresh fluid and a magnet filter while you are at it. Also think about new calipers all round, new slide pins, thorough flush of all brake fluid with the new disks and pads. Be sure to bed them in according to instructions. What miles are you at? I am at 110k miles and all stock brakes. You must be working her hard!

ART is apparently out of business. I was on their website recently and several links were broken and the phone number on their website was out of service. I looked online for a dealer to see about parts for my application and was told they were no more.

 

I was looking all day and couldn't find any for my truck I thought it was just me !!

I have had mine for about 2 years and love them.
They where one of the only ones that had upgrades for a DRW.
