Since my wife's '54 is a not stock,I used Krylon black Hammer finish paint after glass bead and primer.
I got the seal kit and vent boot from LMC.

Luckily the heater core had no leaks.

I got the heater put in the truck and it sure gives out hot sir but I have not bought the cables and ***** for it. Hope I can find original air vents, if not I'm going with the ones on mid fifty.
