It's much easier if the division bar is removed first. Then lift the glass out the top. Use masking tape to hold the window up to the door top while removing the division bar. Many strips of tape, on the glass over the door top and back down the other side of the glass.
I want to take it out to tint it, , i had them done in the summer and they started to peel up because he couldnt get the tint down below the anti rattle , so i was going to take it and do it my self ,, do the whole glass
Thanks
You can leave it in the rail, , just take the rail lose from the regulator, , i think the problem is when the glass is all the way down it dont clear the side channles, thats were you have to losen the division bar so it comes out between the 2 channels then it will come out the acc, panel at the bottom, ,,, thats what i am thinking.
There are hairpin clips that secure the rail to the window regulator. The divider bar needs to be loosened on the bottom and you'll have to rotate the window and take it sideways out the top.
fbb1951,, i have watched all the videos by that guy but he was changing the bushing in the wing glass thats why he went to all that ,, i just want to remove the glass
So can you loosen the bottom of the division bar and remove it from th bottom door? Or does it still need to go out the top?
Thanks
I just did an F3, it had to go up. I've done F100 and don't remember exactly but i believe they go up too. It's a trick to be sure. You pull the hairpins from the arms on the regulator that attach to the bottom of the window track and once the hairpins are out you can move the arms out of the way to let the window slide to near the bottom - it'll probably snug up against the outside door skin - then you rotate the glass out of the division channel and send it up sideways.
This will be a good time to get some sounddeadener inside the door too and rebuild the tracks etc.
Word of caution, when you set the glass back into the window channel at the bottom it is directional. It has an offset to let the window go into the tracks and still connect to the regulator. before you knock the track off the bottom of the glass have a looksee at that offset and understand why it is there.
When reinstalling you slip the window back into its' door channells and slide it up and down to make sure it is free, you fill the bottom window channel with black silicon adhesive and set the glass down into it. Rotate the regulator arms back into place and slip the hairpins back in and run the door window back up top and let it sit overnight. It'll be good to go.
if you think i'm long winded ask how to do the vent window - thats when you hear the language!

Reason: afterthought
I just took all my glass out for paint. I'm fairly certain the divider comes out the bottom on an F100. I don't see how it could come out the top since the mounting bracket is rivited on.
