stuff i need from the diesel chassis

Can I use the springs from an 89 firmly to lift a 77 f250 or any dent f250?

Looks like I can use the motor, exhaust, possibly the tranny with a end piece for the 4x4?

Gas tank in rear looks the same or close....

Fuel lines?

How much should I sell the rear diff for?

Anything else I've missed?

A 10.2" dually rear should fetch $400. Measure the spring length for the rear springs. I don't know off hand. I know for a fact the front springs are way different. I just don't remember about the rear springs.

I would us as much as possible as far as the fuel system from the diesel doner rig.

Measure the eyelet to eyelet distance and then the center pin to rear eyelet, they might move the axle on a older rig to far either direction?

I would keep the complete doner rig handy til the swap is done. You never know what you might need, and having it all right there would be real nice come swap time.

What about the rear end? Granted it will make it harder to move, but could pay for more parts for the f250?

Ill cover the rear fuel tank, I don't want the sun to start messing with the lines etc...

You would be happy Rich, I think I found a 78 f250 that is good to go, but Im looking to buy another f250 switching parts and such....so Ill end up with an extra f250 4x4... BUT I will have a 78 Chassis...

Possible combo,, All of this on one truck (78 f250 4x4)
78 f250 4x4 frame/steering

75 f250 4x4 hi boy springs, possible cab, Bed, possible front fenders. tailgate, rear bumper wheels/tires, at least one door. rear sliding glass, possible hood,(both hoods look decent)

Diddly, it will just be easier to slide the front diff/steering and transfer case from the 78 under the 75 hi boy. Lot less hassle.....But then again you guys know more about this stuff than I do. insight always appriciated.

Parts OL Big Red aquires by default

heavy duty drop down rear bumper off of the 78

possible 351 m motor, it runs but not sure how well.

Im sure there are lots of other stuff too...

Posting this here so I dont lose any info you guys might hand out!!

I would want the newer frame too IMO. Taking stuff from the 78 frame to the 75 is working in reverse. And I am pretty sure its not just a bolt and go deal as far as transferring the steering box.

75 cab ect...to a 78 running gear with a steering box already in place and disk brake front axle is the right direction.

Ask Alan, a body swap is easy compared to the axle and steering swap since its new stuff to old stuff design. Most you will have to do is drill a few different body/bed mount holes.

Good call on taking Alan, he has it going on on the body swap dept and won't steer you wrong by no means.

And he will tell you like it is and not BS you one bit, it might not be what you want to hear, but it will be the best advice he has.

And his advice is pretty damn good.

Shouldn't you be watching for weirdo's and not on your I phone on FTE .....lol

yes that is the hope Rich, another deterant. I love deterants. To tell you the truth, the glocks were easy to get, it is the tasers that has all medical administrations nervous. We have the m26 suckers, with 2 rounds!! if you have to fire both of them (each having 2 probes) They all work together with the blast.... One heck of a lightning ride!!!

From experience....here it goes.....I was shot in the upper butt and one hit my lower hamstring above the back of the knee....It felt like i had tore my hamstring and had it electrified at the same time.....it literally walked me forward because of all the electricity spasming my muscles....I would have not been able to run or even care about getting away.

As far as knuckleheads.....Yes we will reduce the fights we get in by a large amount once they see us in them, but the ones that dont care if we are armed or are trying to die (suicide by cop) are going to fight ten times as hard.

Was that a "you have to be shot to carry one" deal or you your being a bad boy?

Tell med admin tazer's are less chance of collateral damage, on the other hand maybe not, then they might take away the glock so.....

Tell them it's like having pepper spray and spring baton, a safer less lethal alternative/deterrent and you are right alternatives are always nice to have.
