69 k whats covered under warranty??

went to start my truck and it ran for like 3 seconds and shut off, this was a cold start. went to restart, nothing engine would not turn over. unplugged battery, still didn't start, came out and tried to start the truck again 2 hours later and it started fine with check engine light.

dealer says I have an oil leak somewhere and my turbo has to be replaced. which is covered under the engine warranty. however my NOX and EGT sensors are bad so they claim. they want $550 to replace them. I have an extended warranty not ESP, but shouldn't these sensors be covered under the engine 100k warranty OR the emissions equipment warranty which is 80k???

warranty is by part #. Check that way.

Also if the turbo is bad....then did that ruin the sensors? If so then it should be warranty as well.

If the turbo is passing oil down the exhaust then it ruined the sensors.

Well lets atleast help the guy out, I could have swore that EGT Sensors can be had for around $38 a piece, with there being 4 of them, even at worse it's $200 bucks, and can be installed by YOU in less then 5 minutes. I don't know the price of the NOx sensors, but I'm sure they can't be 100 or more.

ok they didn't actually replace the turbo but rather fixed an oil leak near it. also I got stuck for paying over $600 to replace the EGT and NOX sensors, wasn't there a nox sensor recall some time ago?? these were not covered under my 100k engine warranty or my extended warranty which is actually a diesel wrap warranty rather than a comprehensive warranty that I thought it was. I got hosed on that in the finance managers office. I said "so if my ball joints go bad before 100k they will be covered, what about my AC compressor, would that be covered" oh yeah all covered. diesel wrap covers none of that infact I am not sure exactly what it does cover but it sounds like very very little.

What about trucks under that weight? My truck does not weigh that much.

I get it now. Had the R been there I wouldn't have even made the post.
It's what I get for glancing over a post at work while I alt tab in and out of the browser window.

I was thinking the total weight of the truck, not it's rated weight.

The NOX sensor should be covered under the emissions warranty, as its an emissions part.

they shortened the emissions warranty on the 6.7s. anything over 8500 GWVR gets the shorter version. all SD's are over that weight rating.
