1992 F250 7.5 Burning Oil. HELP
Okay, I got this truck a month ago and finished the tune up about 2 weeks ago. This thing is going through the oil like I've never seen. New plugs, wires, rotor, cap, fuel pressure regulator, TPS sensor, IAC valve, push in PCV valve, and air filter. Check engine light comes on after 2-3mins of driving. Getting codes 172, 332, and 637. The cat and O2 sensor was removed whenever the exhaust was last put on so im sure that's a big part of it. Gas mileage is around 7-9, and it runs great when warmed up. The hiccup when cold is it feels like the tranny is slipping for the first 5 miles. Guessing it's the TC that keeps engaging and disengaging. I can deal with that. But this thing is going through about a quart of oil every 50 miles. No major leaks underneath. Big cloud of smoke when you get on it but like I said other than that it runs great. No loss of power. Checked the compression today and all but 1 cylinder were exactly 150psi. The driver's side rear read 135psi. Added oil to the cylinder and no change in pressure. Possible burnt valve? Would this cause this much oil consumption though? My dad and I are leaning towards a bad intake gasket but would like anyone's input before tearing it apart because I am really stumped. Thanks a million.
