Question 2 valve or 3 valve

OK. This Triton stuff has been around for a while but, I finally have one. Ive worked on everything! BUT NEVER, an overhead cam engine in autos. I bought a 04 F250 SuperDuty, with a 5.4. How can I tell which motor it is?
For what it's worth, it has regular spark plugs in it. I can only assume, that, this is all original in this vehicle. I don't have the original manual. Thanks

Should have a 2 valve. Black valve covers that are pretty squared up and have ridges on the top

2V, SD's were one year behind the F150's in updating engines.
