Headlight and wiper switch ***** have to come off. The wiper **** is held on by a spring tension clip. Look for a "slot" in the rear shank of the switch, using a small screwdriver or angled pick, pull forward in that slot and the **** should slide off rather easy. The headlight **** can be removed the same way, or by reaching under the dash to the switch itself. There is a small push button on the switch, push that in, while pulling out the ****. It helps to have the switch in the headlights on position first. Once the **** and shaft have been released, you can easily push back on them to turn off the lights, just don't push too hard or it will lock back into place.

Forgot to mention this, but if the truck has an auto trans, the lower column cover needs to come off, so the cable can be released. The shift indicator is part of the dash cluster.

That worked just perfect. Now I need the speedometer cable to disconnect so the entire cluster can come out. Does it just pull off or what? Not wanting to mess this up so If there is an easy way to disconnect-reconnect that would get this part complete. Thanks

Feel around on the end of the cable. You should be able to find a raised area, press on that, and the cable should slide out of the speedo head.

Thank you for all of the help. Everything you said worked perfect and we got the instrument panel lights working again.
