Thanks, George! Didn't see a thing, then I decided to give my new call a try, and boom! Doe sticks her head up right on the other side of the field. Kept calling her to keep her attention and get her to turn sideways...then I missed Had to stand to get a shot, and standing + adrenaline =/= a good shot. Oh well, only the first day. Left my truck down at the farm so I can hunt with it the next few weeks.


Doe? Oh, uh, we're just friends. This seems to be a reoccurring theme, though...

 

Just got back from dinner at B in Law's. 10 miles away. Saw about 20 or so deer, no horns. Small doe was in our side yard.

 

The small ones are best. They nestle right into a hot grill with minimal prep work.

 

I have 3 does that live in my front yard!
