Well, I got what I set out to do today, but I hit a major road block.

I got Earthquake pulled outside and spent four hours pressure washing underneath it. I can finally work on it without eating mud. Then I drove it around the building and pulled it back inside. Why did I pull it around the building? .....because the trans had water in it and it only has 1st gear. No 2nd, no 3rd, and no reverse. Also the seal in between the trans and t-case leaks like a sieve. The fluid runs out almost as fast as I can put it in. The transfer case seems to be working ok, though. So I guess that's good. The engine only runs well at wide open throttle, even after I rebuilt the carb. I run into this with Holleys sometimes. Sometimes, they just won't take a rebuild. So I need a carburetor and a C6 for a 4x4. .....or this trans rebuilt and another carb.. .....and I need it to be done by the 23rd so I don't give up my entry fee in the Christmas parade.

I think I'm DONE with trades that I can't drive first. "Oh, everything is in great shape!" Yeah, I'm sure it was a few years ago before you left it sit outside with the hood off.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm a little ticked off.

The plus side is, the engine seems to make power. It has plenty of get up and go when you mash the go pedal, even with those giant tires on it.

Man, Rich. That sucks. I know what all of those things feel like and NONE of them are any fun.

As far as the trans goes. We'll talk. I have the money that RC gave me for the 351W that I have to get to you, so maybe I'll head up there this weekend and we can work something out. Just let me know how much extra money I need to bring.

You're already helping me out. I think I can handle pulling a trans. ...especially since the engine is already out.

wow thats a drag alan.. maybe you can pull the pan and check the valve body..might be something simple like a hung up selector valve with a broke link or something.. alot depends on how much water was in the trans..

Good Morning Everybody!

RC. Sheesh, ya' can't go 30 years without a major component dropping out anymore? What's this world coming to?

With my truck, the fluid pouring out of the seal in between the trans case and t-case adapter is flooded with water. ....it's junk. A nice shade of bubble gum pink.

I have the "job" for the rest of the week, so I guess I'll just finish up the wiring until I got up to Rich's place this weekend.

Rich, take it easy on that back, I feel your pain, believe me. That MRI or C/T (CatScan) will show the doc's what is going on. I have Degenerative Disc Wear from the tail bone up basically. And at least one is "Bulging" and nobody will do anything until it ruptures, fun fun fun.
We left Ozark a year ago yesterday, a lot is going better for us here, but none of you all can be replaced, it's been a long year here for me. But with better insurance and doctors, I am up and moving around a lot better with the new hip. We have renewed our lease here and staying in this house another year. It's surrounded by yuppies, but close to everything, and it is a good neighborhood, nothing, and I mean NOTHING happens here.
Some errands this morning, and then to check out a truck accessory store I've heard about (Truck Outfitters). I'm wanting some factory fitting floor mats for Bear. I hate the thought of that carpet getting trashed. I had a set in the 01 "Goldie" and they really save the carpet. Looking at window vent's, don't think they will beat other aftermarket stores on those items, but I'll get out of here for a bit.

Y'all behave

Unk Bob

Alan the parts Bronco still has the NP205 xfer case attached to the trans....

Unk Bob ck out WeatherTech DigitialFit or Husky. I have Husky in my Dodge, but my x bro inlaw has a set of WeatherTech digitialFit in his 09 Dodge and they are awesome.

The husky's have a lip that can trip you up getting in and out, the weathertech are flush edged on the in and out side and fit awesome, but they are a little pricey.

Yeah Rich, I've looked at WeatherTech already, I'm gonna pass at $200 plus, if I can find some good ones for less. Gonna try Ford OE mats also.
