Call the local DMV and ask questions, it is still free to ask questions. Ask them if you can bring a vehicle title in and get the vehicle title just put in your name for now and tag it later when it is road worthy.

Or are you asking about the ball joints ect....? Get some of them KC FTE boys together, you buy pizza/soda and hand cleaner and then they "coach" you thru the work.

Doing it is the best way to learn.

I'll call up there and ask. Where do I find these KC people? haha. Also, what does FTE stand for? I have been meaning to ask.

To title a out of state vehicle in Missouri you have to have a ID/OD inspection done at any vehicle inspection station They verify the vin number matches the title and the odometer reading. (ID = VIN number OD= odometer reading) You can then got to the department of revenue office and get a title only. For that you do not need a safety inspection only the id/od inspection.
Good luck

Good info. I'll call the dmv in the morning to verify and get an id od done. Already have someone interested in it.

Really Larry, when I took my Oklahoma titled 71 Bronco title to my local DMV and said it was inop and told them I wanted to title it only, it was 12.oo and that was that.

For my Arkansas titled 79 Bronco, I did have to take it to a insp place for the ID/OD ck paperwork, the day I sold it..... guess it matters what day it is at the DMV...lol

TCopp glad to see you got the "FTE" ='s Ford Truck Enthusiasts thing figured out...lol

If you was no so far north, there would be a bout 3 or 4 of us come lend a hand, that's how us "down south" Missouri boys roll. lol

Evening All!

RC. Yeah. Still on for tomorrow. I just talked to Rich and we're all set. We'll be riding up there in style. I borrowed a 2010 F150 crew cab from work.

I'm looking forward to getting all the trucks up and running. I have three wounded dentsides.

Larry was right about the title thing. You need a ID/OD slip done then you can title it in your name without an inspection. I just had to go through this with a couple of cars. DMV has gotten silly in the last couple of years.

I'm willing to help, but even if I head straight to your place from work it would be past dark by the time I got there. I live and work near worlds of fun and you live down south. My weekends for the next month are booked by deer hunting. If you have a lighted, heated shop or garage, lets get to it.

As for the title, go to any inspection shop and get a twelve dollar id/od inspection. Take slip and another twelve dollar to dmv with an application for mo title and get title I'm your name. I bought my jeep from ks. I bought it as a body and frame, so there was no way it would pass inspection. You at least need to get the title in your name if you're going to sell it.

There is quite a bit of work on that list, but nothing that can't be handled. I'll help as much as possible if you decide to keep it.
