Thermostats with screws in them don't do much to allow the engine to come up to temp.

Hahaha. I couldn't believe they put a screw in it. But now my gauge goes almost all the way to Hot before coming back down

The oldest had basketball clinic at Norwich university this afternoon. Then came home and took the stuff out of the garden and cleaned up the garage some.

Guess I missed something. Someone put a screw into the thermostat to keep it open?

Pretty much. But it goes all the way to the high end of normal. Just a hair before it hits HOT

all I did was watch a race and watch the wind blow everything all of the place.
another thing too look for is air in the system. unless its 195* thermostat. then it'll run warmer than normal. sometime the ECM and sensors are set at certain temp otherwise the sensors won't work right.

Possibly the radiator may be partially plugged not allowing all the radiator to be used. Which may have been the reason for them to lock the thermostat open

that's possible too. or if theres something in front of the radiator not enough to flow air across it.
