As I recall at the wiring junction under the master cylinder my 68 has two 4 wire plugs. I don't know if 67 the same. Is it possible you accidentally plugged the wrong ones together? Or your PO did?
the PO was an idiot he was high off his rocker when he sold me the truck, the turn signal switch is an after market that he hooked up and I guess he was way off when he done it, left turn signal works in the front and flickers in the rear (due to brake lights staying on) right signal gives me hazards! and when I hit the brakes then I get a solid left signal! i'm at a loss for words on this. im no good with wiring and I can really trace the wires cuz they are all taped up and just pieced together. please someone help me lol
check the taillamp wiring under the master cylinder to see if PO hacked into it. If looks OK then try unhooking the headlamp switch. If cross-curcuited on the inside of it it could send power to the rear lamps.
doesn't look like PO hacked into the wiring under the MC but when I unhook the headlight switch then the tail lights go off. I'm not sure what this means or how to fix it. I completely unwired the after market turn signal switch which is a signal-stat 900. I am going to rewire it as soon as I get the tail light situation resolved.
the headlight switch works fine to turn on the headlights and front running lights, could it cause my tail lights to stay on even when the switch for the headlights is in the off position? I don't know how any of this stuff works.
I wonder why some peoples trucks have a constant hot and some don't? That's weird I never had a car that only worked when ignition on. Back to your wiring mess the PO left you with. Looks like you may need to just start at the tail light end of the harness with a volt meter and trace the wiring up to the cab and keep checking for splices into the light harness if you see any take them off and see if the wire is hot if not keep tracing and dis connecting and wires to see if they go out if you reach the harness connector and still no luck unhook it and keep on tracing can be a long frustrating process and confusing but your bound to find it as for the turn signal switch I'd get a new one made for your truck if the PO wired in a random switch who knows what's going on also check and clean your grounds
thank you very much. I will do that tomorrow if it isn't raining cuz im out of gas and cant get in the garage as far as the turn signal switch I will prolly go to a local ford graveyard and grab a whole column, I find that easier since mine is missing all the insides!
there is one hot wire coming into the light switch, which is the larger gauge wire looks like it is black with an orange(ish) stripe. maybe the is something wrong with my switch that is making the lights stay on? they haven't always done that and I haven't changed the wiring to the lights.
well, lol. the redneck fix all has stayed true to itself. I took the headlight switch and banged it on the garage floor a few times and now my tail lights go off. But I do not get brake lights, would the brake lights be on the same fuse as the dome light?
Ok well I'm going to go check and see if I have brake lights with the ignition on. Thank you JEFFFAFA! If I have brake lights with it on then I will go ahead and wire in my turn signal switch. Not sure how to wire it exactly, LOL.

Your welcome. But don't get discouraged if they don't work correct. Now that you took the problem child h/l switch out of the equation the brake lights will go through their natural path. Which is through the t/s switch. Which is anyways but correct from your discription. So I think once you get A t/s switch wired correctly a whole bunch of electrical Gremlins will disappear. Sounds like your truck's PO enjoyed the 60's way too much (LOL!) so he probably did not hook the t/s switch wires color keyed to color keyed. He also might not have gotten all the wires feed down the column. And if so some may be grounding out where they go through the flange. A new one from DC may be in order. If so let us know. One of us will tell you the easy way to feed the wires through the column.
I have ran into a problem yet again, brake lights will not work by the pedal right now so I got under the truck and cut the rubber back a little on each of the four wire for the running lights and brake lights, one for each filament. ill draw up a diagram to explain further what is going on with them.
