Running board bolt holes

My stock running boards are pretty much junk. I think I'll buy the fiberglass ones from BeBops - I already have their fenders.

Can somebody give some dirmensions on where the front brace holes so I get started at the right distance back? One I get started the rest of the holes will be easy.

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't drill without both front and rear fenders on and aligned, with the RB's just setting on the braces. At that point it's easy to drill up from underneath, exactly where needed. Then you need to file the holes square for carriage bolts.

Front and rear fenders are already mounted but I'm sure they're even in the right place. I had to drill holes in them too!

Just a lil hep from my friends?

Albuq-F1 is correct, of course. My problem with using his method is that I am not sure I put the fenders on correctly.

Could somebody just measure where the first hole on the running board is and tell me? That's all I need to get started!!!!

These are as measured off my RH original steel RB. Don't be pissed at me if they don't work for you!! (REVISED!!)

Didn't your fenders have dimples on the flanges where bolt holes needed to be drilled?

Mine measure 8 3/4" from the front edge of the running board straight back to the center of the outer bolt hole. The inner is 7 1/8".

I revised my diagram above after checking. Your way of measuring is more easily duplicated. But the differences between yours and mine just illustrates the need to drill in place!

I see trouble written all over this! How do you start drilling holes if you might need to relocate the fenders later?!! OK, I get it. The fender placement was estimated. But, I wouldn't drill any holes in the running boards until I at least laid them down on the supports and checked to see if they mated up to the fenders first. As a double check to the drawing, can you check the dimensions on your original running boards? Good luck, Jag

The running board supports may have been bent, mine were. Not badly, but enough that I wouldn't count on the bolt holes being in the exact original spots.

My running boards came from Bebops and they had mold marks where the bolt holes were. Apparently they used an original board for a pattern and the square holds left an impression in the fiber glass boards. Mine allined with the impression in the glass boards without any problem. Look close and you will see what I am suggesting.

Well I'll be! That's even better. How you like the Bebop's running boards?
