Anyone in Boise area wanna swap windows?
My 2003 crewcab has tinted windows on all 4 doors. I do a lot of night driving, especially in the winter when days are so short. I really want to put non-tinted windows in the driver and passenger doors. None of the local salvage yards have any AT ALL. Haven't bothered to call one of the Ford dealers cuz I'm guessing they want a few hundred each for them.
Anyway, if theres anyone on here in the Boise area that has clear (non-tinted) driver and passenger windows and wants to trade for factory tinted ones, send me a PM. Thanks.

I looked into this a while back and determined that the tint was factory. It's worth investigating again, though. Would save me a lot of headache if I could simply scrape it off.

Well, that was easy!
Using my electric heat gun, I got the window good and warm (almost hot) to the touch. Slipped a razor blade under the tint at the apex of the window, and the stuff came off like "buttah". Maybe 10 minutes per side, with very little glue/adhesive residue left behind. Awesome!
It will be nice driving into the hunt area this weekend at the crack of dawn, scanning the side slopes without having to have to windows down in order to see out of the truck. And I'm very much looking forward to hauling the slide-in camper and towing ATVs at night next summer with an unobstructed view.
Thanks all, really appreciate it!
