Air cleaner rec needed for Autolite 1101 carb

Hey fellas,

The 1101 carb on my '65 F100 had a crappy paper element conversion done by PO. Inside of oil bath was gutted and paper element dropped in with a flimsy sheet metal cover hacked out that doesn't seal to the base at all. I need rec's for an aftermarket air cleaner that will fit or will need an oil bath unit to buy off of someone. Personally, I would prefer to keep my truck original. All three of my previous trucks had the oil bath cleaner and I never had any trouble with them.

The 240/300 had a 1v until it went to fuel injection in 87. You should be able to find something over that 22 year span.

Thanks. I have been looking but not found anything. I was hoping someone here either had one to sell or knew of a supplier that carried something that would fit.

Check out my '66 build thread, we converted the oil bath to a paper element using a Mr. Gasket universal 9" filter. It seals up great inside. This might let you keep what you have instead of finding another filter.

Thanks for the reply, but the top of the original oil bath cleaner is gone and has been replaced by a hacked out sheet metal disk that neither fits nor seals. All that is left is the tub. If I had the top I'd be golden.

Hi,

Thanks for the offer. My air cleaner base has a carb hole opening of 1 & 7/8" diameter.
