1950 F1 (R) with engine swap in '70's research on drivetrain
Just acquired a 1950 F1 that was last tagged in 1980 and was rodded back when. Just started to research engine and transmission and I think it is a 302/C4 from 1960's. Pretty sure the engine transmission was a matched swap from a donor. Tag on transmission has the following PEE V over C8OPG K9B. MY be from a 1969 Fairlane or Torino. Can anyone help confirm that? Thanks.

PEE-V = C4 - 68 289 302 Fairlane, 69 302 Torino, 69-70 302 Falcon
C8OP = was an Automatic transmission designed for a 68 Ford Fairlane. But it doesn't mean it came out of a 68 Fairlane.
Not sure on that date code. I'm use to two numbers and a letter not two letters and a #. One of the letters should be the month and the other maybe the assembly plant? It might be Feb 69 or Oct 69? Someone that knows more ( like Numberdummy ) could tell you.

I believe the date code would be the "K9B". Which would be a 69 date code. Uncle Bobby are you sure the last digit is a B and not a 8? If it's an 8 then the date code should be Oct 8th 1969.

Thanks for the clarification. The searches I had done indicated what I had posted, but you can't always trust the net (obviously).
"The Ford casting number always starts with the 'Decade' letter'(see table 1.3). Ford started using this structure in the late 50's with the first letter being 'B' . In the 60's the letter changed to 'C' and 'D' for the 70's and so on. The Decade digit is always followed by the 'Year' number. The combination of Decade and Year indicate the actual model year the part was originally designed for" (from the MustangTek site).
