The DLC in my truck (97 f 250 Diesel) will not communicate with my Auto Enginuity Scan Tool. Before I start tearing things apart I would like to verify the pin voltages on pins #2 & #10. Between pin #5 and pin #10 I am getting 5 volts but pin # 2 has nothing. Is it normal? I would like to know for sure before I unplug the PCM.
Software opens and works up to the last step then I get error that it can't communicate. Called AE tech support, that's how I knew to measure voltages. Very nice guy but they are software people not mechanics on old Power-strokes. Calling tech support also reassured me that I have the software set up correctly.
Is your rig chipped ? If so, you'll need to set the switch to stock mode if it is programmed or remove the chip completely from the ECM for AE to work.
