How to tighten gear shift lever

Hi all I'm back here in the 6.0 forum again cause I just bought a used 07 250 EC long bed 4x4 with 110 k on the clock for my work truck. However the gear shift lever is a little loose and I was wondering how hard it is to tighten it back up? It looks like I have to take the key cylinder out.

Before taking anything apart lay on the floor under the dash, looking up the steering column. There are two Torx head bolts that often loosen. This will make the shift lever loose.

Yup, very common problem. The bolts are T30's and are on the back of the shifter tube.

We'll I checked the trox bolts and they were tight. I think it's up in the top go the column where lever connects. Any ideas how to get to that?

Drop the column down. There are four bolts that hold it to the dash panel. Once it's down you can replace the bushings between the shift tube and the column. It's not a hard job at all.
