Here is a great example of what can be done with a stock bench seat to make it look like something completely custom built. This work was done at a local shop, the truck was featured on the cover of Custom Classic Trucks magazine a few years ago.

 

Mid to late 90's silverado's used these 95-99. Grabbed it at a pick and pull last year for dirt cheap.

There was a head rest, I elected to delete them when I had the upholsterer do his thing - mainly because it got me below the rear window ridge.

 

You have more options with the 53-56 trucks since the cab is wider. Here's the seat in my 1948 F-3. It's a 1990 Ranger seat...
