1996 460 where does my hose go?

i am working on a 1996 f250 with the 460 engine auto trans. 4x4. i have a large hose about 1" diameter or so that comes off the pass. fenderwell canister i cant seem to figure out where it goes. there are 2 of them one goes to the air pump. also have a pair of small red plastic lines that terminate around the vaccuum tree, i know 1 of them go to the tree just not sure about the 2nd. if anyone has a pic of these i would greatly appreciate it. thanks

The second hose should go to a series of valves that control where the air is being pumped. I am not 100% sure, as it has been awhile since I have had my AIR system.

As for the red vacuum lines, they should 'T' together just before the VRESSER (vacuum reservoir) and then run to the tree as a single line. There is a pink line that will connect the air bypass to the control solenoid on the driver side of the throttle body, just behind the coil.

Does anyone have a schematic for these vacuum/thremactor/EGR systems? I've been getting an intermittent CEL. I took a quick look under the hood and saw a couple of hard small vacuum lines that got so brittle they snapped. One is black and one is pink. I'd like to get some new hose and get it all hooked up as it should be. A schematic would greatly help to make sure I put them in the right places.

Also, does anyone know how to check the CEL codes on a 96 F350 which is OBD1?

I managed to snap one of those hard plastic vacuum lines changing spark plugs. I used a piece of vacuum hose to connect the ends of the broken line together, and it was still in place and working when I rolled the truck. That was close to 10 years.

Just connect the two ends of the black line with one piece of vacuum hose and the two ends of the pink with another and you should be good.

As far as the vacuum schematic, that was on a sticker under the hood on my '94.

The article here, at this link tells you how to use either the CEL or a test light or multimeter to read out the diagnostic trouble codes from a OBDI computer.

Hope this helps.
