1st Time DIF Tank Top Off, sound about right?

I still have yet to see that my truck has ever ran a REGEN, but yesterday evening I pulled out my 2.5 Gal just of DEF fluid and was able to pour the entire jug in the truck. The truck is sitting right at 3K miles on the odometer.

Does this sound about right?

FWIW: The Ford nozzle filler makes this pretty easy work to do.

Sounds right to me, a tank should last over 5k, if your not towing much

I average about 1,000mpg with the stuff. I tow a lot so at times it goes quicker.

And, I don't think regens have anything to do with the stuff. Different animal altogether.

KTP doesn't fill it full and I doubt dealers will do it without you asking during PDI.
I get 4k to sometimes 5k depending on how I use the truck over that tank.

At 2,500 miles on my 2013, I was able to dump an entire 2.5 gallon container of DEF also.

I drove over 7000 miles on my first tank of DEF without getting the "800 mile left" message. The second tank was at about 6000 miles and no message. I do reasonable amount of towing for one formerly of the 40/week w#*k force. That 4 letter word, w#*k, has been redacted from my thesaurus. I tend to drive with a feather foot.

I was going to run up to the dealer and pick up a 2.5 gallon jug to keep on hand for the next fill, but jumped on the Walmart website and noticed that they had the BlueDEF for $11.97 per 2.5 gallon box/jug and ordered 2. While I would have no problem running either Motorcraft or BlueDEF in my truck, it appears that on long trips I could place a jug of the BlueDEF in my across the rail tool box where the Ford Motorcraft jug stands too tall to do so.

Hey Ford, are you listening......design your DEF jug more like my body build, short and husky. Kind of like a Weeble, you know "Weebles wobble but they won't fall down".

in my two def requirement trucks I've used the 2.5 gallon bottle only once and that was too many times for me...
and at roughly $6 per gallon, I go by the bulk stations now - pilot flying j, etc... for $2.79/gal...

The first tank lasted about 6k miles 2k towing...
a few weeks ago I got the xxx ? (thought it rolled down to 300?) gallons until empty and it only took 2.1 gallons from the pump
- so that is a concern that I'll have to ask the dealer about if I ever need to bring my truck in...
